Cal Fawell
Hello! My name is Cal, and I am a fifth-year doctoral candidate in philosophy at UNC Chapel Hill (expected graduation: May 2026). Before that, I was an undergraduate at the University of Chicago, where I studied philosophy (and minored in math).
During the Fall 2024 semester, I'll be a visiting student at MIT's department of linguistics and philosophy.
My philosophical interests lie primarily in epistemology, though I also enjoy thinking about questions in the philosophy of language. I'm writing a dissertation in epistemology advised by Jim Pryor (chair), Ram Neta, and Alex Worsnip.
When not philosophizing, I enjoy woodworking, taking exploratory walks, and playing various instruments.
